This Sunday 17th March 2PM-4PM we will be holding a working bee for a general tidy up including spreading mulch and gathering branches. Join our team of local residents and green thumb enthusiasts to address some garden tasks and then enjoy some complimentary afternoon tea after that! We are looking for kind and caring volunteers to assist with supervising children aged 5-12 during lunch break. This role entails sitting with the children, having a chat while they eat and handing out some creative activities to do for those who are fast eaters! Afterwards, weather permitting, volunteers take the children to the field adjacent to Mairangi Arts Centre and keep an eye on them while they burn off some energy.
Requirements:
Reliable, enjoy being around children, kind, caring. No Police record.
Date periods : 25-29 September and 2-6 October
Time Commitment
Shifts start at 11.30am for approximately two hours. If you can only help one day that's fine, any assistance is appreciated.
Complimentary Milo, cookie and sandwich provided on the day for those that can assist us.

We are … View moreMairangi Arts Centre seeks a warm, friendly person with customer service experience to join our small team as our Weekend Gallery Minder. The centre has two galleries which showcase a range of art exhibitions and four busy art studios that are the venue for our popular art class programme. We are looking for a reliable, conscientious person who can work independently during the weekend.
Duties and responsibilities includes:
- Minding our galleries and welcoming visitors
- Front facing customer service in a professional manner
- Responding to enquires received at reception and by telephone
- Processing gallery and gallery store sales through the EFTPOS machine and the till
- Taking recycling bins out according to schedule
- Assisting with exhibition openings and weekend events
- Other general duties as they arise from correspondence from the weekday team
Hours for the position are 10am-2pm on Saturdays and Sundays (excluding long weekends). Start date is Saturday 17 September.
