It had been planned to take place at the Auckland Domain on December 11. "We delayed making this sad decision for as long as we could, however, we must consider the safety of everyone involved so, of course, it's the right thing to do. "We're really pleased to continue to plan for Coca-Cola Christmas in the Park in Christchurch scheduled for late November and the free-to-air TV broadcast of show highlights in December," she said. Christmas in the Park is an important fundraiser for Youthline. For the last 15 years funds raised at the two events have helped to support over 35,000 young people each year. The outdoor Christmas concert, dubbed "the nation's favourite Christmas party", annually attracts a massive live audience to the Auckland Domain and Christchurch's Hagley Park when friends, families and communities gather to celebrate the start of the Kiwi summer festive season.

As Lynette, a resident at Edmund Hilary village, says “A lot of people still believe that you're going to a rest home. They don't know the concept of a retirement village. You go there, it's beautiful. You've got facilities. You've got activities. And you don't stop living.”
Retirement is a chapter of life that’s filled with possibility. Choose the lifestyle you want to live and proudly embrace every opportunity. It’s what Ryman residents do.

All officers were fully vaccinated, but an investigation is underway about how much PPE they were using when they were exposed to the virus.
Superintendent Shanan Gray said police responded to reports of concern for the welfare of a woman on Tuesday afternoon. Four officers found the woman on Miro Road in Māngere Bridge. After speaking with her, they took her to Auckland Hospital for a mental health assessment, Gray said. Once at the hospital, the woman started showing Covid-like symptoms. She subsequently tested positive for the virus. Gray said the four officers were stood down on Tuesday. They are required to get tested and self-isolate for 14 days as a precaution. One of the officers tested positive during day one testing, with the other three testing negative. A fifth officer, who wasn’t involved in the incident but lives in the same place as one of the four officers, is also self-isolating as a precaution because they’re considered a close contact. Gray said the police station where the officer who tested positive is based has been deep cleaned, along with the patrol car involved.

Tāmaki vaccination centre will be pulling an all nighter on Friday, in a bid to inch the city closer to its 90 per cent vaccination target rate.

It will be run in partnership with Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei and feature local musicians until 9pm and a socially-distanced BBQ until sausages run out. Site lead Teara Gillman said her team wanted to give “everything a go” to make sure everyone had the chance to access a vaccine. “The aim is to reach all of those people who work at night or late in the evening because many of these people are often sleeping during the day when our site is open,” she said. “We’re reaching out to all local whānau, shift workers, our local high school students and any other night owls to come on down on Friday to get a sausage for a shot if you haven’t yet been vaccinated.”
There is also a free taxi service in Auckland for those who still need to get their first dose and were having difficulty getting to a vaccination centre. The Government is also ramping up its efforts to reach those who still haven't received their jabs. Covid-19 Response Minister Chris Hipkins has declared October 16 as a "National Day of Action" for vaccines. “We’ve got a plan and to make it work we’re asking everyone to contribute to a big, nationwide push for vaccination. This will culminate in a National Day of Action for vaccination on Saturday 16 October,” he said.
