If the council can't help even in such a minimal way to *prevent* flooding before it happens, then I wonder why we "authorise" our banks to pay rates. Does anyone know where we can obtain sandbags (preferably free)?
I've tried Mitre10 and Bunnings. Trademe has some but they're expensive. Any ideas, folks?

We are currently looking for 100 refugee/migrants to participate in our FREE employment transition service, this will involve a one on one meeting to develop an employment pathway plan and can include assistance with CV's interview preparation, referrals for driver licences and classes on NZ employment law and workplace norms. Criteria is must live in Auckland, have been in NZ for less than 5 years and must be in receipt of assistance from Work and Income.
