Have you been misled about a product or service? Know your rights!
📢 **Have you been misled about a product or service? Know your rights!** 🛑🛍️
If a business has misled you—whether it’s false advertising, unfair pricing, or misleading sales tactics—you have **protections under the Fair Trading Act (FTA)!** 💪🏽
🔹 **Step 1:** Try resolving the issue with the trader directly.
🔹 **Step 2:** If that doesn’t work, you can take action under the **FTA.**
The **FTA applies to all businesses**—from major hotel chains and supermarkets to small market stalls and online stores. It covers:
✅ **Pricing & advertising**
✅ **Product/service info**
✅ **Sales techniques & financing**
✅ **Product safety & trading practices**
✅ **Employment ads**
🚨 **Examples of misleading behaviour:**
❌ False claims about product scarcity (“Only 2 left!” when there’s plenty)
❌ Fake sales deadlines to pressure buyers
❌ Misleading product origins (e.g., a “Made in NZ” label on an imported item)
