• Challenging clinical leadership role transforming and expanding primary care, reporting directly to the group CEO.
• $140 per hour + bonus with flexible options ranging from half to full time, with 20% non-patient facing time.
About Us:
Pukekohe Family Health Care is a large and well-established General Practice located in the Franklin district. We are guided by our vision – “Excellence in Clinical Care and Customer Service” so we aim to provide complete care to our patients by a comprehensive range of services to meet whanau healthcare needs in our community. We offer access to nurse-led specialist services, a specialist centre with visiting consultants, immigration and medical services for companies.
The Role:
Working alongside of a team of dedicated doctors, nurses and support staff, this role will work collaboratively with the Clinical Services Manager to provide professional oversight and leadership for the strategic and operational aspects of the practice. You will be commercially minded, identifying business opportunities and you will have the ability to formulate plans and drive change.
As part of the Executive team, you will attend and participate in Executive and other meetings where your clinical leadership expertise is required. We are seeking an experienced GP who loves their practice work but is also looking to step up into the challenge of a Clinical Director. We are envisaging a ratio of 80/20 patient/clinical director time working between three and five days a week.
Role Overview:
• Strong commercial acumen to provide leadership for decisions and performance monitoring of funded clinical programmes and services.
• The ability to understand data to identify value-adding business initiatives.
• Strong leadership skills to lead by example, provide pastoral care for new doctors, mentoring and guidance, identify learning and development needs.
• The ability to interpret and communicate external clinical information which may require change management processes in the practice.
• The ability to identify potential or actual clinical risks in a solutions-based approach for their mitigation.

⚠️ DOGS DIE IN HOT CARS. If you love them, don't leave them. ⚠️
It's a message we share time and time again, and this year, we're calling on you to help us spread that message further.
Did you know that calls to SPCA about dogs left inside hot cars made up a whopping 11% of all welfare calls last summer? This is a completely preventable issue, and one which is causing hundreds of dogs (often loved pets) to suffer.
Here are some quick facts to share with the dog owners in your life:
👉 The temperature inside a car can heat to over 50°C in less than 15 minutes.
👉 Parking in the shade and cracking windows does little to help on a warm day. Dogs rely on panting to keep cool, which they can't do in a hot car.
👉 This puts dogs at a high risk of heatstroke - a serious condition for dogs, with a mortality rate between 39%-50%.
👉 It is an offence under the Animal Welfare Act to leave a dog in a hot vehicle if they are showing signs of heat stress. You can be fined, and prosecuted.
