Hello East Auckland!
Sowers Trust are holding a movie fundraiser event to raise the much needed funds to keep us going within our community. Please check out our facebook page and our website www.sowers.co.nz... to check out who we are!

Where hands touch:
A coming of age story set in the most brutal of times: Germany, 1944. Leyna (Amandla Stenberg), the 15-year old daughter of a white German mother (Abbie Cornish) and a black African father, meets Lutz (George MacKay), a compassionate member of the Hitler Youth whose father (Christopher Eccleston) is a prominent Nazi solider, and they form an unlikely connection in this quickly changing world. As Leyna's mother strives to protect her from the horrors that she could face as a mixed-race German citizen, Leyna is forced to forge her own path as the war goes on and the Nazi's increase their atrocities over the Jews and all dissidents. Can she find an ally in Lutz, himself battling a fate laid out before him that he is hesitant to embrace?

unfortunately however 4 were successful totaling over $250.00 on the other account and we only discovered the unknown payments while going over a bank statement if we have not discovered these unknown payments they would still be taking money out so thank goodness we did eventually notice that this was happening.

The card has since been cancelled and measure put in place to try to prevent this from happening again.

Now we just have to wait for a fraud team to investigate and hopefully the stolen money can be refunded and the people responsible dealt with.

I must say It’s a pretty horrible feeling when you can’t even feel that your money is safe in your bank account especially in this day an age.

How hots to hot for walking your dog ?.

Marie from Howick

Can’t believe how many people walk their dogs in the heat of the day, I think people take the heat of the concrete for granted because they themselves wear shoes, so they don’t feel just how hot the concrete can be on their dogs sensitive paws, hopefully this will get people thinking.

Hey neighbours,

All New Zealand police officers will receive new stab- and bullet-proof vests in a $20 million roll-out over the next three-and-a-half years.

The current vests - which were introduced in 2006 - are stab-proof, but special vests are worn by any officers involved in firearms call-outs.

They have passed their warranty, but remain "safe and fit for purpose", says Police Commissioner Mike Bush.

What do you think about the new armour? Are police officers safe using the current vests? Are you surprised the existing vests aren't stab- and bullet-proof?
