Waitakere Table Tennis Association Club Nights for 2024 (Glen Eden Recreation Centre)

TABLE TENNIS:

3 Club Nights per week at Waitakere Table Tennis Association starting in 2024!

The Waitakere Table Tennis Association will hold its regular Thursday Club Night (6.30 pm-9 pm, Glen Eden Recreation Centre, Harold Moody Park, 44 Glendale Rd, Glen Eden) on the remaining dates of 7th & 14th December 2023 ($10.00 for adults, $5.00 for children up to 16, and for over 65s).

Our family-friendly club will then take a 4-week break, opening again on Thursday 11/01/24.

In 2024, owing to the rapid growth and popularity of the club, The Waitakere Table Tennis Association will be offering an additional weekly Friday Club Night (6.30 pm – 9 pm) from Friday 12/01/24.

From Tuesday 02/04/24, Waitakere Table Tennis Association players will be able to attend a 3rd weekly club night at the French Bay Table Tennis Club (7.30 pm -10 pm) at the St John Vianney Church, 317 Hillsborough Rd, Hillsborough ($10.00 cash per player).

All players of any age and experience are welcome, including beginner players.

Free coaching is available on-site during the evenings of Thursday and Friday, and all equipment is supplied on Thursday & Friday (Tuesday players will need to take their own bat to French Bay Table Tennis Club from 02/04/23).

Free and secure off-street and well-lit parking is available at both venues.

⚠️ DOGS DIE IN HOT CARS. If you love them, don't leave them. ⚠️

It's a message we share time and time again, and this year, we're calling on you to help us spread that message further.
Did you know that calls to SPCA about dogs left inside hot cars made up a whopping 11% of all welfare calls last summer? This is a completely preventable issue, and one which is causing hundreds of dogs (often loved pets) to suffer.
Here are some quick facts to share with the dog owners in your life:

👉 The temperature inside a car can heat to over 50°C in less than 15 minutes.
👉 Parking in the shade and cracking windows does little to help on a warm day. Dogs rely on panting to keep cool, which they can't do in a hot car.
👉 This puts dogs at a high risk of heatstroke - a serious condition for dogs, with a mortality rate between 39%-50%.
👉 It is an offence under the Animal Welfare Act to leave a dog in a hot vehicle if they are showing signs of heat stress. You can be fined, and prosecuted.

We encourage you to use these - and ask your local businesses to display the posters if they can. Flyers can be kept in your car and handed out as needed.
