It happened late this afternoon (around 5:45pm)
I was driving towards Henderson on this road when I saw a long haired, black cat in a crucial state. It had been hit moments before by a passing vehicle, I can't pass blame as I didn't see the accident happen, I only saw the cat afterwards. I pulled over as soon as possible and 3 other people came to help. We made sure to do our best to help the cat remain calm and we put him to sleep in what was the most humane way we could with what we had. I must reiterate, without going into detail, this beautiful and cared for animal was in crucial condition and it was all that could be done.
If you know whose cat this is, please pass on this message. If it's your cat, please send me a personal message. Reach out to those in the area whose cat it may be.
I am very sorry for your loss and will not soon come to grips with what happened this afternoon. This was somebody's beloved animal and I would just like to let whoever the owner is know, this wasn't done heartlessly, we tried to do everything we could.

In the lead up to the 2020 election, Stuff is keeping voters up to date with what’s happening in their electorate, through Neighbourly. Here’s what you need to know about the candidates in the running to be Te Tai Tokerau's MP.
At the October 17 election, New Zealanders will have the opportunity to choose their regional spokesperson.
Through the Mixed Member Proportional (MMP) voting system, those enrolled can vote for the party they want as well as a local representative.
Why does my MP matter?
The person elected will be the voice for your region in Parliament. If you’re having trouble getting entitlements or dealing with Government departments, they can help. If your community needs funding for certain projects or activities, or there isn’t enough healthcare in the area, the elected MP can step in and help.

99.5% of it is pure gold and a perfect tongue in cheek of how we currently are. However, the 'punishment' of the man coughing at the end is ... well, let's just say no one has lost their head over this pandemic🙄
