But actually a neat and tidy green lawn is a food desert for pollinators, and leaving grass unmown and letting so-called weeds like clover and dandelion flower provides food for bees and helps support biodiversity. A small area (pooks reserve) that looked pretty clean at a first glance had about 6 bags of rubbish and 2 massive rubbish dumps, that I reported to the council. It is very disturbing how polluted the area was, but it is also amazing to know that there are people who deeply care to make it better:)
We also cleaned a bit of the roadside, hence extra bags. So once again, thank you to all who came and come to join us this Sunday:) as always, if you see extra dirty streets, let me know:)
Also a huge thank you to the Auckland Council! Those guys came and picked up all of the rubbish we picked up from my house! What a great support!
