What do you think about another rate
Hi neighbours A massive storm earlier in the year caused widespread damage and power outages that went on for up to a week in some parts of Auckland. Now a finance officer at Auckland Council has floated the idea of a targeted rate. He suggested some of the money come from development funds. However, he suggested ratepayers could pay a rate because their property values would increase with undergrounded power. What do you think? Is it worth another rate? Poll: Do you think NZ should ban social media for youth?
The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.
This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
