Earlier this month, one of the owners of the store was working behind the counter when a man entered the store and demanded money.
He walked behind the counter to the cash register and took a large sum of money, but the owner very quickly managed to activate the anti-theft smoke canon and the offender fled the shop.
Seeing what happened, the members of the public chased the offender and caught him, holding him until Police arrived soon afterwards.
He was then arrested and taken into custody.
A 40-year-old man has been charged with theft and was due to appear in the Waitakere District Court last week.
The money taken was returned to the dairy owners (pictured on the left), who were very grateful to those who stepped in to help.
A great result and example of people going above and beyond to look out for people in their local community.

I've just launched Bouqo - a platform that brings the in-store experience of buying flowers online, making it easier to pick and send flowers from local florists. We're currently just up and running in Auckland only.
So far, we've received mainly international orders through which got me curious. I would love to understand a little more about how you would typically buy flowers for someone who lives in Auckland but maybe not the same neighbourhood as you. How would you go about buying flowers for them?
I'd love any thoughts or feedback on the platform in case you wanted to take a look - bouqo.co.nz...
Thanks in advance,

We'd love to hear about the great places you've discovered over your summer holidays, whether it's somewhere local or on a trip away. Did you come across a particularly amazing beach, camping ground, town, walk or scenic spot? What made it so special? Any activities or places to eat and drink you can recommend in the area would also be much appreciated. As usual, please include 'NFP' (not for publication) in your comment if you don't want it included in a travel article.
Cheers.

We’ve decided to run a special offer for people with bunions - “Bunion Evaluation” for only $33 (worth $85). Offer valid 12/1/21 - 12/02/21.
Many doctors and podiatrists believe that surgery is the only way to fix a bunion. This is not true. Bunion surgery is painful and doesn’t address the underlying cause of a bunion, which is generally the way we walk and stand. Ideally, surgery should be considered as the last treatment option for bunions.
At Corrective Foot Solutions, we use a gentle, hands-on technique to effectively treat and correct bunions – which means there’s no need for surgery or orthotics. We use Foot Mobilisation Therapy to correct the underlying cause of your bunion by working on the misalignments in the foot, as well as strengthening the weakened muscles around the joints.

Greg Clark's intriguing trio drew 74,400 views, making his auction the most popular on the site this year.
Clark fielded 140 questions about the shoes which he listed after perpetually wearing out his right jandals.
"In my excitement to see the summer the last three years in a row I've been unfortunate enough to blow one out on the right flank," he said.
"....I've had to face up to the likelihood that I may never need my three left jandals and perhaps there are some deeper issues with my gait which need to be addressed. "
Clark said he was now donning "shiny new jandals taking much greater caution with the placement of my right foot."
The name 'jandal' combines the words 'Japanese' and 'sandal'.
