Family Rebuild help After a Devastating Fire
On Wednesday, 30th October 2025, tragedy struck when a fire tore through Sanjay’s family home, destroying nearly everything they owned. Sanjay, his wife Neha, and their 7-year-old child Jay were lucky to escape unharmed — but the fire left them with nothing but the clothes on their backs. It’s been an incredibly tough time as they face the reality of starting over from scratch. The family doesn't have contents insurance to claim their loss. They are in temporary accommodation until 17th Nov. They are looking for 2 Bedroom affordable accommodation in and around Parnell primary school zone. Any help will be highly appreciated. Night-time chipsealing works on SH2
From 9 to 17 February, stop/go traffic management will be in place on SH2 between McPherson Road and Dimmock Road on multiple nights between 9pm and 5am (Sundays to Thursdays).
During the day, all lanes will be open, but speed restrictions will apply to allow the chipseal to set and to protect vehicles travelling over the newly laid surface.
There may be delays to your journey when travelling through the area. This is weather dependent so check NZTA Journey Planner before you travel.
