Free Yoga Nidra Sessions – Looking for Volunteers 🌸

Valentina from One Tree Hill

Hi Neighbours! πŸ‘‹
I’ve recently completed my Yoga Nidra Teacher Training, and as part of my preparation for the final exam in mid-October, I need to practice guiding sessions once a week with a small group.
If you’ve ever been curious about Yoga Nidra, this is a wonderful opportunity to experience it for free!

Yoga Nidra is a deeply relaxing guided meditation that:
🌿 Helps with anxiety, stress, and insomnia
πŸŒ™ Releases tension from body and mind
πŸ’« Supports positive changes in your life

Session Details:
πŸ“ Starting next week
πŸ“ Thursday evenings (7:00–7:30 PM) or Sunday afternoons (time to arrange together)
πŸ“ The location will depend on group size:
β€ƒβ€ƒβœ” If small, we can meet at my home in One Tree Hill
β€ƒβ€ƒβœ” If larger, I will arrange the Scout Hall in Panmure

The session itself is 30 minutes, but please allow around one hour including setting up and time for any questions.

No experience is needed β€” just bring a mat, a couple of pillows, and a blanket.

If you’re interested, please message me and let me know which day you would prefer – Thursday evening or Sunday afternoon.

Your help would be greatly appreciated, and I’d love to share this beautiful practice with you! πŸ™

Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need πŸͺ™πŸ’°πŸͺ™

One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship β€” like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?

Night-time chipsealing works on SH2

NZ Transport Agency (NZTA)

From 9 to 17 February, stop/go traffic management will be in place on SH2 between McPherson Road and Dimmock Road on multiple nights between 9pm and 5am (Sundays to Thursdays).

During the day, all lanes will be open, but speed restrictions will apply to allow the chipseal to set and to protect vehicles travelling over the newly laid surface.

There may be delays to your journey when travelling through the area. This is weather dependent so check NZTA Journey Planner before you travel.
