Around Papatoetoe North school
ยท
๐ธ Safer streets coming to Papatoetoe North School. Auckland Transport is making it safer and easier to walk outside Papatoetoe North School, with pedestrian upgrades coming to Graeme Avenue by January 2026.
These changes respond to community concerns about narrow footpaths, poor visibility, and unsafe parking โ especially during school drop-off and pick-up times.
๐ ๏ธ Whatโs changing:
* Widening the footpath outside the school (eastern side, between 11โ29 Graeme Ave)
* Removing an unused bus stop to add two new parking spaces
* Replacing concrete bollards with grass berms for improved safety
* Removing concrete buckets outside 8 and 25 Graeme Ave
* Installing โNo stopping off roadwayโ signs to stop cars parking on grass berms
๐ Why it matters:
- Safer walking for tamariki, whฤnau, and the wider community
- Better visibility for pedestrians and drivers
- Less damage to berms and underground utilities
- Encourages parents to park safely away from the school gate

I'm a fruit. If you take away my first letter, I'm a crime. If you take away my first two letters, I'm an animal. If you take away my first and last letter, I'm a form of music. What am I?
