Police rescue kitten from Auckland motorway
Police have pulled this runaway kitten to safety from the busy south western motorway.
Many worried members of the public alerted police after spotting the kitchen near the Puhinui Rd off ramp about 12.30pm on Friday.
Motorways staff raced to the scene and slowed oncoming traffic.
Police scooped up the kitten and handed the animal to the care of SPCA staff.
Police say they hope the tiny feline will be given a new, loving home very soon.
