Improved netball courts at Glenfield College - great news for junior netball

Danielle Grant from Danielle Grant - Kaipatiki Local Board Deputy Chair

Junior netball is set to become more accessible for schools in the local area, with the funding of court improvements for Glenfield College. In collaboration with the Kaipatiki Local Board, Netball North Harbour and Glenfield College, a new junior competition should be up and running by next year. Many of our local primary schools currently travel out of the area to play on a Saturday. The upgraded facilities at Glenfield College will provide an exciting alternative for local schools. I would like to acknowledge my fellow local board members for their support of this project and thank Netball North Harbour and Glenfield College for their enthusiasm for making this happen. Local schools will be contacted in the coming months about their participation in the local competition for 2019.

Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙

One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?
