Joseph from Te Atatu South

SADLY, TE ATATU FOOD TRUCK FRIDAYS HAVE HAD TO CANCEL THIS JULY 7TH EVENT DUE TO THE FORECASTED HEAVY RAIN AND WIND. IT IS TOO RISKY FOR EVERYONE INVOLVED.

THEY ARE BACK ON OCTOBER 6th. YOU CAN SAVE THE DATE AT www.facebook.com....

Te Atatu Food Truck Fridays is back THIS Friday (July 7th) for a midwinter Matariki special event. There will be a selection of Auckland’s best street food along with the Te Atatu repair café.

July 7th – Winter hours 5pm – 8pm – Te Atatu South Community Centre.

The food trucks joining us on the night will be:

- Captain Kai Moana - serving up classic NZ kaimoana goodness
- Woodspirit - Woodfired sourdough traditional Turkish pides.
- Jo Bro’s Burgers – Classic burger perfection.
- K-Pork Korean Barbeque - Korean barbeque (bulgogi)
- Texas Taco Trailer - Authentic tasty Tex-Mex tacos.
- Sweet-As Crepes – Sweet and savoury crepes

Also, on the night we will have FREE facepainting, FREE Matariki crafts making star jars, FREE Hotshots photo booth inside the main hall and a free plants swap café with Anjali inside the repair cafe.

Come grab some tasty food and soak up the community vibes. Plenty of seating inside or outside. Parking available on site. Walking or cycling up makes it even easier.

A great way to spend a Friday night.

Some Choice News!

Kia pai from Sharing the Good Stuff

DOC is rolling out a new tool to help figure out what to tackle first when it comes to protecting our threatened species and the things putting them at risk.

Why does this matter? As Nikki Macdonald from The Post points out, we’re a country with around 4,400 threatened species. With limited time and funding, conservation has always meant making tough calls about what gets attention first.

For the first time, DOC has put real numbers around what it would take to do everything needed to properly safeguard our unique natural environment. The new BioInvest tool shows the scale of the challenge: 310,177 actions across 28,007 sites.

Now that we can see the full picture, it brings the big question into focus: how much do we, as Kiwis, truly value protecting nature — and what are we prepared to invest to make it happen?

We hope this brings a smile!
