The method of chip sealing is often to use small, loose stones that are not pre-coated in bitumen, so spread everywhere. AT contractors will sweep the roads a couple of times under their contract, but it is then up to neighbours to request further sweeps from AT as required (sweeping is often required for several months to several years).
Auckland Transport will be chip sealing the following roads from Tuesday 17 October to Sunday 10 October:
* Crocombe Crescent, Beach Haven
* Flaxdale Street, Birkdale
* Frizell Street, Beach Haven
* Hobby Avenue, Birkdale
* Ivy Place, Birkdale
* Segedin Place, Glenfield
* St Peters Street, Northcote
* Stanaway Street, Hillcrest
* Totara Grove, Hillcrest
* Verran Road, Birkdale
* Waverly Avenue, Glenfield
Hours: 7am-7pm
Contingency dates: from Monday 24 October to Sunday 30 October.
(Some of the above roads were originally scheduled to be chip sealed in September, but were deferred to now).

The Healthy Mother Healthy Future (HMHF) Asian perinatal wellbeing project, funded by the Ministry of Health to increase maternal health outcomes, has seen a 4.2% increase of Asian mental health referrals in Waitematā.
Historically, the region has had a “very low” Asian maternal mental health referral rate of 13.3% – despite Asian-newborn babies representing 31% of births in the area, Grace Ryu, Asian health services operations manager, said.

9 November at 12.30pm to 2pm.
Venue: Mary Thomas Centre, 3 Gibbons Road, Takapuna and on Zoom.
Have your say - the Incorporated Societies Act.
MBIE is consulting on the next steps in implementing the new framework for incorporated societies and those who run them, as set out in the new Incorporated Societies Act 2022.
The Act was passed by Parliament in April this year and is the first comprehensive refresh of the rules that govern incorporated societies since 1908. The new framework keeps the best of the 1908 legislation, while collating useful case law in one place and filling in gaps where the rules have been unclear.
The Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) is now asking for feedback on proposed regulations to support the new regime to function effectively. It asks for feedback on several matters, including how societies’ re-registration will work, the threshold for audits of financial reports, conversion of societies established under other legislation, and the composition of society committees. Submissions close on the 22 November.
Help shape these regulations and be part of the conversation by attending this lunchtime workshop.
You will learn:
* More about the changes and what they will mean for incorporated societies.
* What your organisation will need to do. How to have you say and contribute to the discussion.
* Practical tips for writing a submission.
* Discussion and the opportunity for organisations to collaborate on a joint submission.
The workshop will be led by Sandy Thompson (LEAD).
For those unable to attend in person you may join by zoom. A zoom link will be emailed out nearer the time.
