U3A Ormiston next meeting
You are invited to attend the next meeting of U3A Ormiston at 10am on Thursday September 22nd at the Flat Bush Old School Hall, corner Murphy's Road and Flat Bush School Road. Our main speaker will be Mick Clout, talking about "The Conservation Challenges of New Zealand", while our mini speaker will be Marin Burgess of the Howick Historical Society. Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
