Keyboards master on East FM, Saturday from 3pm...

Phil from Farm Cove

He’s a musician’s musician, Liam Ryan, and getting NZ Music Month off on the right note it’s a pleasure to have him as featured artist on tomorrow’s She’ll Be Right on Saturdays Show with PJ Taylor, 3-7pm (NZ time, May 6) on East FM.
There are many musician's musicians in this musically lush wetland, and Liam Ryan easily fits that billing, having played keys with everyone. And of retirement age, there’s no sign of him slowing up soon. He’s just played with nine different bands and musical line-ups over the summer period. You don’t get more in-demand than that.
For beginners, he was in The Narcs, and has played with Midge Marsden for more than 40 years and Rodger Fox Big Band for a dozen.
He continues to release very cool and interesting solo albums, and is playing, recording and producing with artists such as Amin Yossef, Sarah Spicer and Evan Silva.
There’s also his long official association with the National Jazz Festival Tauranga, as a music educator, and management of the National Youth Jazz Competition, so there is plenty to chat about his career in music in a phone interview chat at 4pm. His website is www.torchmusic.co.nz...
We’ll play plenty of music Liam has been associated with, and that means lots of different styles. And because it’s NZ Music Month, we’re only playing Kiwi music on She’ll Be Right Shows through May.
East FM is East Auckland’s fair-dinkum community-powered public service radio station, on 88.1FM and 107.1FM on local frequencies, nationally and globally at www.eastfm.nz... and on app iHeart Radio.
She’ll Be Right - it’s all about the vibe; it’s all about the groove. And this Saturday, it’s with great respect that we celebrate Liam Ryan Day. – PJ (actually me, human created content; not robot…)

⚠️ DOGS DIE IN HOT CARS. If you love them, don't leave them. ⚠️

The Team from SPCA New Zealand

It's a message we share time and time again, and this year, we're calling on you to help us spread that message further.
Did you know that calls to SPCA about dogs left inside hot cars made up a whopping 11% of all welfare calls last summer? This is a completely preventable issue, and one which is causing hundreds of dogs (often loved pets) to suffer.
Here are some quick facts to share with the dog owners in your life:

👉 The temperature inside a car can heat to over 50°C in less than 15 minutes.
👉 Parking in the shade and cracking windows does little to help on a warm day. Dogs rely on panting to keep cool, which they can't do in a hot car.
👉 This puts dogs at a high risk of heatstroke - a serious condition for dogs, with a mortality rate between 39%-50%.
👉 It is an offence under the Animal Welfare Act to leave a dog in a hot vehicle if they are showing signs of heat stress. You can be fined, and prosecuted.
SPCA has created downloadable resources to help you spread the message even further. Posters, a flyer, and a social media tile can be downloaded from our website here: www.spca.nz...
We encourage you to use these - and ask your local businesses to display the posters if they can. Flyers can be kept in your car and handed out as needed.
This is a community problem, and one we cannot solve alone. Help us to prevent more tragedies this summer by sharing this post.
On behalf of the animals - thank you ❤️
