Although the number of in-person services and ceremonies across the region is reduced as a result of the red-light setting during planning, there are still many ways to commemorate at home or in the community.
The dawn service at the Auckland War Memorial Museum is limited to veterans and invited guests only. The public are encouraged to view the service at home on Māori Television.
Visit ourauckland.nz/anzacday for ways to commemorate Anzac Day.

The vase/urn measures approx. 34cm height, opening diameter 9cm, maximum diameter at widest part 22cm.
Pattern: abstract fish, waves and stars (bowl only) in blue.
There are a few imperfections in the glaze and some minor chips (see pics) but these are hardly noticeable and only add to the beauty of these handmade artisan ceramics. These are gorgeous functional pieces of ethnic pottery and a fine addition to any collection.
Sold as a pair. Pick up from Devonport.

Milford beach is absolutely full of rubbish right now, if everyone and anyone who walks along there could pick up at least one piece it would make a difference. Please don’t be lazy it’s not hard to do just one piece if you’re there. Picked up all this from just about 10 metres of beach :(

The idea, which involves amalgamating the park with two other North Shore parks, has been mooted since the 1990s.
However, a formal proposal by the Kaipātiki Local Board has now been investigated, and rejected, by Auckland Council.
If amalgamated with the neighbouring Kauri Point Centennial Park and Chatswood Reserve, the regional park would have the largest and most diverse coastal habitat in central Auckland’s urban zone.
Local board chairman John Gillon said the park’s upkeep had dipped, falling below the standards of the purchase agreement with Chelsea Sugar, and believed regional park status could see a ranger stationed at the park to advocate for its maintenance.
But on April 7, the majority of the council’s parks, arts, community and events committee voted against the proposal, saying there was not enough evidence to suggest the park’s maintenance would improve with regional park status.
