We have managed to go remote with our NZQA fulltime courses! NZSFWLive is our new online learning platform where our tutors live-stream their classes to students at home. The cookery students have been supplied with ingredients, and in some cases, bowls, trays, sieves and pots, so that they watch the demonstration and then prepare it themselves at home. They then upload a photo of what’s cooked. We are using Google Classrooms and Hangouts to connect.

Some of you may have heard of our story through the grapevine or in social media. My family and I lost our home two weeks ago due to an electrical fault causing a fire which burnt everything we own and the house completely. Now with COVID-19 pandemic we are struggling to get viewings to properties. Any help around this would be greatly appreciated. We are ideally looking for a 5 bedroom house (My wife and I, 3 girls and granny live together), or 4 bedroom and granny cottage/flat attached. We also have non shedding 2 outside dogs which are currently being looked after by our neighbours. Our child goes to Elim school in Botany, and Trinity Kindy in Howick, so looking to live around east Auckland. Can afford rent of $650 - $800 (at a push).

If you, or anyone you know, has been laid off and is looking for work, please get them to get in contact with me through Neighbourly. I will be keeping it open to ensure we get as many people as possible involved. This is a national problem, so it doesn't matter whether you're in Temuka or Takapuna.
The need will be huge and I've been working on setting up teams all this week, in anticipation of where we are now. I'm dealing with the Ministry of Health as well as supermarket chains.
Please share this with everyone you can, so we can find everyone who is capable of helping. We want to talk to people who are being sensible enough to be taking extreme precautions themselves. We want to protect, not infect.
They will be paid for their work - this is not voluntary and the intention is to provide an essential service as well as enabling people with no income to earn a few dollars and provide for their own families.
So let's all join in to beat this little sucker a billion times smaller than us.
