It's a family affair on East FM, Saturday from midday...

Phil from Farm Cove

Dad and daughter musicians Jesse Wilde and Faith Wilde, who’ll be in the spotlight at the upcoming singer-songwriter showcase The Bridge, feature on tomorrow’s She’ll Be Right on Saturdays Show with PJ Taylor, midday to 4pm (NZ time, August 10) on East FM.

We’ll also spin the music of Jenny and Renny Hantler, a couple who have spent their lives together playing music and just recorded their first album, Making Memories.

Jesse Wilde and Faith Wilde are coming into the studio at 12.30pm to talk about playing at The Bridge, along with Mema Wilda and her brother Levi Lights On, at Uxbridge Arts and Culture in Howick on Sunday, August 25.

Jesse Wilde is an East Auckland legend who has played across New Zealand for three decades while running his own recording business, Wilde Records Recording Studio, and his daughter Faith Wilde is well on her way to carving out a career in music, having song recordings released and is back after an extended music-oriented time in the United States.

The Bridge, presented by the good folk at Brightside Productions, is an entertaining forum where singer-songwriters and musicians showcase their talents and personalities. It has a fantastic vibe. Performers talk about their compositions and the stories behind them, and of their journeys in the wonderful world of music.

The Bridge also works very well in the great venue of Uxbridge Arts and Culture, in the superb acoustics of the historic and charming Uxbridge Theatre.

Jenny and Renny Hantler are playing at the next concert night of the Eastern Districts Country Music Club, one of East Auckland’s longest running musical institutions.

The show also features performances by Patty Masterton, Huru Rakete, Cay and Millie, and Shaun Ryland, and is held at its usual venue, Bucklands Beach War Memorial Hall, on Wednesday, August 21, 7-9.30pm.

The sleeve notes on Jenny and Renny Hantler’s CD Making Memories read: ‘Music has been the glue that has bonded our family for life. What began as a gift of studio time to record some music for the grandkids has evolved into several sessions to produce an album of tracks, all of which hold treasured memories of our life together.’

East FM is East Auckland’s fair-dinkum community-powered public service radio station, on 88.1FM and 107.1FM on local frequencies, nationally and globally at www.eastfm.nz... and on app iHeart Radio.
She’ll Be Right - it’s all about the vibe; it’s all about the groove. Providing a platform for NZ music and performance artists to exhibit their talents since ages ago. Ka pai. – PJ

If a zookeeper had 100 pairs of animals in her zoo, and two pairs of babies are born for each one of the original animals, then (sadly) 23 animals don’t survive, how many animals do you have left in total?
