Talking with national music treasure Greg Johnson on East FM, Saturday arvo from 3pm

Phil from Farm Cove

We’re talking with Greg Johnson (exciting!) as he launches into a very much welcome-home tour, so we’re declaring it Greg Johnson Day on the She’ll Be Right on Saturdays Show with PJ Taylor, 3-7pm (NZ time) tomorrow June 25 on East FM.
We’ll be chatting with Greg at 4pm, and playing tracks from his extensive collection of recordings throughout the show, as the tour starts in Auckland this week.
The band playing with the national treasure is exceptional – long-time drummer and collaborating producer Wayne Bell, Ted Brown who has come down with his guitar from Los Angeles with Greg, Mark Hughes on bass, and Ben King on guitar.
We like to claim there’s a slice of East Auckland in Ted’s make-up, as he first learned guitar at Edgewater College.
The Greg Johnson tour dates in Auckland are Victoria Theatre, Devonport, July 1 (sold out); Tuning Fork, Downtown, July 2; and Paraoa Brewing, Whangaparaoa, July 3.
The She’ll Be Right Show with PJ beams out of East FM, East Auckland’s community-powered public service radio station, on local frequencies 88.1FM and 107.1FM, nationally and globally at www.eastfm.nz... and on app iHeart Radio.
The She’ll Be Right Show – it’s all about the vibe; it’s all about the groove. And this Saturday it’s Greg Johnson Day. As it should be. Happy Matariki – PJ
