Police mirror PM's praise for Ōtāhuhu station cleaner Rose
Hi neighbours. It's said that tough times bring out the best in humanity, and that is certainly the case when it comes to our essential workers.
Counties Manukau Police have sung the praises of one of their cleaners, Rose, two days after she received a special mention from Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern for her work during the coronavirus pandemic.
Rose has been working 13-hours days to keep the Ōtahuhu Police Station safe and clean.
"We really value Rose along with everyone else who come to work each day to look after us and enable us to work in our communities," police said on Facebook,
"Rose is a friend to everyone at Ōtāhuhu Station and we couldn't be more proud of her."
Who would you like to thank for their efforts during these trying times?
Poll: Do you think banning gang patches is reasonable?
With the government cracking down on gangs, it is now illegal for gang members to display their insignia in public places whether through clothing or their property.
This means arrests can be made if these patches are worn in places like restaurants, shops, on public transport or ferries, and on airplanes. Arrests were made recently at a funeral.
