Explore the Village and gardens with an Easter trail! Find all the clues to win an egg. Meet the Easter Bunny and discover how aspiring bunnies are trained by the Easter Fairy in a live show by Act One Productions running throughout the day.

With plenty of chocolate, crafts, face painting, and outdoor games, there will be something around every corner! Visit the Sweet Shop, which offers an array of old-fashioned lollies and fudge or make your own lollipop! Enjoy refreshments from the gelato cart and sausage sizzle or grab lunch from the Homestead Café. Make a day of it!

Tickets: adult $20, child $12, babies under 1 year are free.

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
