We are looking forward to another great event in Howick Village. Bring your family and friends along to our Christmas Fair on Friday 5 December 2025 - in store bargains and promotions start from 9.00am on event day and a huge array of entertainment and our iconic markets start from 5.30pm. There will be a large number of food vendors on site and lots of fun activities for the children. Santa will be visiting from 6.00pm- 8.30pm and will be in Bayley's on Picton Street. Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
