Join us for a guided tour with a difference! Discover the unexpected and intriguing stories behind the bags on display in our featured exhibition Carried Away: Bags Unpacked.

The bags themselves are a visual feast, but we've dug deeper and fallen down rabbit-holes to bring you the bigger picture of the life and times of these popular accessories. We guarantee that the De-tour stories start with bags, but who knows where we may end up?

De-tours are thirsty work and so they will conclude with a Devonshire tea at our 1929 cafe.

Saturday and Sunday afternoons, 10 - 11 and 17 - 18 August. Bookings essential.

We're finally moving forward with a replacement Beach Haven Wharf :)
Yesterday the Kaipatiki Local Board approved the attached design and also approved proceeding to consenting and construction of the new recreational wharf.
Physical works is expected to begin before the end of 2019 and be completed by the end of March 2020.

The project will rebuild the damaged parts of the wharf and piles, strengthening and upgrading it to today's safety standards, while keeping the heritage style of the wharf and providing a new floating pontoon platform for fishing and diving.

Thankyou to the project manager Peter Bilton for navigating the complexities of this heritage coastal project, and to the Beach Haven Placemaking Group and Larking Boat Steering Group members for their substantial input into the new design.

Hi neighbours,

My son is going to college next year and since is a big decision to make where should he go, I have applied in a few schools around the Shore.
I would really appreciate your help if any of you can share your experiences about Rangitoto College and Westlake Boys.
I’d love some feedback either your kids or friends or relatives of yours who’s kids have attended any of them. I am very interested to know what the social environment is like in there or if bullying is an issue and how is dealt with.
Thank you in advance
