Silt Fencing at Little Shoal Bay
Silt fencing has now been installed between the boatyard and the dinghy ramp at Little Shoal Bay Reserve. This follows the confirmed contamination of the soil in the boatyard area, likely to be from historic boat maintenance activities on the site.
The fencing will help to reduce contaminated sediment washing off the site, especially with future king tides.
Remediation options are being investigated. The Kaipatiki Local Board will be considering the future of this space in due course.
