New floats, giant inflatables, musicians, entertainment groups galore and Santa himself!
If you want to head in early to get the best spot, there will be pre-parade entertainment from 12pm.
Farmers Santa Parade is a proud supporter of Paralympics New Zealand, who will be out on the parade route ahead of the big event, so make sure to bring along some gold coins for their bucket collection.
Parade route
===========
The parade starts on Mayoral Drive before heading down Queen Street and ending on Customs St East.
To avoid the crowds, grab a spot-on Mayoral Drive; the view’s great and its way less busy than downtown. There might even be space to lay out your picnic blanket!
Whatever position you choose, make sure to keep safe and sit behind the blue honour line painted along the parade route.
Getting there
===========
Inner city roads will be closed between 11am and 5pm, so make sure to arrive before 11am if you’re driving to avoid traffic and take advantage of free parking available at the Downtown and Victoria Street Auckland Transport car parks (for cars parked before 11am and exited between 2pm and 6pm).
Buses and trains are also a great option to get there. For bus, train and ferry schedules and fares, visit at.govt.nz/bus-train-ferry or call the AT Public Transport Contact Centre on 09 366 6400.
Rain date
========
The 2019 festivities will take place on Sunday 24 November, 1pm. However, if it’s raining cats and dogs, the parade will be postponed to Sunday 1 December.
Santa's Party
===========
2.30pm-5.30pm | Aotea Square | FREE
After the parade, we will have an amazing stage entertainment line-up, excellent food, stalls, headliners PJ Masks and entertainment for the whole family at Santa's Party in Aotea Square from 2.30pm-5.30pm.
