Afternoons of fun whilst supporting disabled teenager

Are you a bubbly, happy, caring support person?

Physically fit

Regular hours in Millwater

A family in Millwater are looking for two people to share this job over the week including weekends to support and spend time with their 16yr old disabled son.

This is a fun job for the right person. Playing games and laughing at the things he laughs at. He loves trucks, lorries, and trains. He loves silliness, people who are bubbly, fun and funny. Supporting this teenager through his after-school routine whilst having fun is a big part of this job.

His cerebral palsy means he needs physical help most of the time. Things like supporting him to walk, transferring him in and out of seating/chairs/getting into bed or the bath. Help to eat and drink and with personal cares. You need to be physically fit and energetic to give him the best support.

Weekends and school holidays will be more focused on trips/days out.

Two staff to work across the week from 3 –5pm after school and one day every second weekend (flexible) each day consisting of 7 hrs of support. More hours during the school holidays similar to weekend hours (7hrs). You will need a car and a full licence.

If you are a passionate caring person who would love to help this teenager get the most out of his afternoons and weekends, then please get in touch. Days of work negotiable.

If you are interested, please email jobs@flyingkites.org.nz or send me a message
