Another parking warrior leaves abusive note on disabled person's car in Rangiora
A Kaikōura woman was left shaken after being targeted by Rangiora’s latest self-appointed parking warrior.
Nadia Mackle has used a wheelchair since being paralysed in a crash in 2015, when she was 23.
The disabled parks were already taken when she arrived to meet her family for lunch at cafe Artisan at Rangiora Bakery, so she opted for the furthest space away, not wanting to inconvenience other customers.
She needs extra space on the right side of her car to be able to unload her wheelchair, so parked to the left of the standard space and put her mobility permit on the dashboard in case anyone looked to see why she had parked that way.
When she returned to her car, she saw the note criticising her parking.
Rangiora has a history of members of the public leaving notes on cars parked appropriately in mobility spaces. Read the full story (including details of the other incidents) here.

-
43.6% I want to be able to choose.
-
47.1% Against. I want to deal with people.
Poll: Would you take a 1.5-hour hike for a shop? 🌿🐦
Canterbury, you have a hidden treasure right on your doorstep ... though it does come with a 1.5-hour walk up the stunning Rakaia Gorge Walkway.
Along the trail you’ll find The Fantail Shop showcasing small artworks by local artisans. Even better, every purchase supports the Fantail Trust, helping protect and restore biodiversity on the north bank of the gorge.
So we’re curious: would you take a 1.5-hour hike for a shop? (And for local biodiversity, of course 🌿)
-
32.2% Yes!
-
67.8% No thank you.
