Waimakariri mayor asks Bunnings to reconsider closing its Rangiora store
Waimakariri's mayor has gone in to bat for employees of Rangiora's Bunnings store after it was named as one of seven marked for closure.
Dan Gordon said he spoke with the company's HR department after hearing of the planned closure, which would affect 21 staff.
The plan had come as a surprise, given the store was well located in the centre of Rangiora and had recently added a garden centre, he said.
