Youth-led kaitiakitanga project delivers everything from hands-on conservation training to live music
A music festival will kick off a youth-led conservation project in the Hurunui later this month.
The event will be held at the Balmoral Reserve Campground on the afternoon of Sunday, May 26, and has been named Rhythm and Pines due to the nearby Balmoral Forest.
It will feature live music, an outdoor movie, workshops, food trucks, speakers and a bioblitz – an intense period of biological surveying to try record all the living species within a designated area. The event will also be used to showcase the recently designated Youth Restoration Site, next to the campground.
