THOMAS AND FRIENDS AT THE RANGIORA LIBRARY.
As the team leader of Thomas and Friends activity at the Rangiora Library I want to thank all those children and families who took part in having a drive of our friendly locomotives and purchasing the diorama kits to take home and put together. We want to have the finished dioramas on display at the Rangiora Library some time late August or September, and then again at the big Model Train Show in the pioneer Stadium Christchurch on 7th and 8th of October. One aim of the North Canterbury Model Railway Club Inc., is to get families involved in model railway. We have found it is a great hobby to bring out the creativity in children. We have a good number of adults who have varied skills in many aspects of model railway and are very happy to help those just starting in the hobby. We are actively looking for accommodation for our club. When we get a place we will have a junior section that will meet on a Saturday morning to learn all about model railway including putting a full layout together. We have a layout base just waiting to get worked on.
Again THANK YOU to all who took part, and a big THANK YOU to the staff of the Rangiora Library for your great support.
Arthur Linnell. President N.C.M.R.C.Inc.

Poll: As a customer, what do you think about automation?
The Press investigates the growing reliance on your unpaid labour.
Automation (or the “unpaid shift”) is often described as efficient ... but it tends to benefit employers more than consumers.
We want to know: What do you think about automation?
Are you for, or against?
-
9.7% For. Self-service is less frustrating and convenient.
-
43.2% I want to be able to choose.
-
47.1% Against. I want to deal with people.
