Salvation Army shop door items
Today as I passed the Rangiora Salvation Army shop I noticed 2 children's bikes had been left at the door along with a lot of other items, some may be rubbish but a lot will be able to be sold on. I also noticed as I came passed again about an hour later that the bikes had gone and there were people going through boxes and bags. This is absolutely disgusting that people are dumping rubbish / castoffs and items of good quality being stolen. I have seen this behavior many times and I have also suggested to some people that they go back to the shop when it is open and make a good cash donation, this has resulted in being abused at times. I understand that a security camera may be placed close by to record this behavior and reported to the police. It also cost hundreds of dollars annually to take all the cast off rubbish to the refuse centre, this is money that cannot be used to assist those in need. PLEASE be considerate and honest and you will feel good doing so.
Incidentally, I do not have any association with the Salvation Army as a staff member or volunteer.

Christmas Spirit
Went to New World Christmas Eve brought some groceries and as I went to pay a
very kind Lady behind me in the queue reached out and paid for my purchase.
The world still has some wonderful people in it even in these troubled times.
