Petra, pictured, is an 11-year-old Abyssinian cat with no tail who is looking for a new home after her owner died.
She's one of hundreds of cats needing new homes in North Canterbury every years, according to Cat Care Incorporated.

Went to New World Christmas Eve brought some groceries and as I went to pay a
