Community surveillance system cracking crime capers in North Canterbury

Sergeant Robert Irvine said Hanmer Springs was the first town in the Hurunui district to have the $15,000 cameras – paid for by local businesses and charities – installed.
Among the crimes solved using the technology so far was a man charged wilful damage after footage showed him kicking in a car.
