Experts on hand at Swannanoa fair
This year's Swannanoa School Fair will offer rural folk and lifestyle enthusiasts some handy advice.
Organisers have introduced some new offerings to the line up which will include talks and demonstrations.
Fair spokesperson Leisa Williams said the talks and country themed demonstrations would run throughout the day and cover a wide variety of issues.
"The series will cover bees, composting, dos and don'ts in maintaining your septic tank, pruning, propagating, and how to look after your chickens.
"We wanted to keep things interesting and offer new things for people, embrace our rural theme and offer something that is relevant and informative to the community."
Williams said the sessions would provide tips on all things country and provide the opportunity to ask questions and chat to the experts, many of whom come from North Canterbury.
"The talks have definitely been well received. We have had great interest since we announced on social media that they had been added to the day's line up."
The Swannanoa School Fair is on Sunday March, 4 at the Swannanoa Domain, Tram Rd, 10am to 3pm.
Entry: $5 donation for adults and children (under 15) free.
