She lacked self-confidence. ‘‘I had a negative mind set in which I had beliefs that I would never be successful at anything, with a very low self-esteem. ‘‘I made excuses because I had no motivation and little confidence and I let life pass me by even if it was a wonderful opportunity because I was so afraid of the unknown.’’

Not anymore! Prasad, 18, and the youngest in a family of five, is now working as a caregiver while studying a foundation course at NZMA for occupational therapy and has realised she ‘‘could do anything’’. She is the first in her family to go to university. The South Auckland teen has found her potential with the help of our Foundation that aims to transform young Kiwi lives.

The latest tsunami report for the Christchurch City Council offers jaw-dropping scenarios of foaming, angry streams of rapidly surging seawater and some city suburbs wallowing metres deep in it.

The National Institute of Water and Atmospheric study released this week investigates how one-in-500-year and one-in-2500-year South American tsunami – generated by magnitude 9.28 and 9.49 quakes respectively – might affect the city when combined with a range of climate change-induced sea level rises and shoreline changes.

Its findings offer pretty much the worst-case outcomes from a tsunami attacking the Canterbury coast, and conjure images of devastation in Indonesia, Japan and Samoa in the past couple of decades.

VODAPHONE LANDLINE OUTAGE 10 DAYS AND COUNTING THIS IS THE THIN EDGE OF THE WEDGE TO REMOVE YOUR LANDLINE PERMANENTLY TAKE NOTE

WE are with Vodaphone for our landline and it was fine on Sunday 30th June as I made and received calls. Monday 1st July we had no dial tone and just really bad static CANT RING OUT OR IN. Spent SIX hours on the cell phone trying to actually even report the fault. Was given the run around and did not manage it on Monday. Tried for another 6 hours on Tuesday, again our cell phone which we never use as its prepaid and costs a fortune is for emergencies only .. like this!! If we did not have the cell I dont know HOW we would have reported it. After making maybe 15 calls that all dropped out thus losing our place in the queue and WAITING ANOTHER 6 HOURS + for their "chat line" we still got nowhere. I saw that there were workmen in Waikari digging up and nlaying cables . I asked but said was not them. Since them after calling three Vodaphone shops who dont answer their phone and NEVER ring you back we finally got the fault reported. Our neighbour across the road has their connection but we had doubled checked it was not us. The .websites said there was no fault in our area but the person we finally!! spoke with said it would be fixed within 48 to 72 WORKING HOURS. Well that deadline has come and gone and we are now on day 10 with no phone so we rang again to again be told they would fix it within 36 to 48 working hours. People this is the THIN EDGE OF THE WEDGE to remove landlines. It is disgusting that we have NON communication with a communication company. VODAPHONE you disgust me and then you send me the bill in the post to rub it in. I will go to court beforfe I poay that niull after what we have been through. Two of us ill an animal emergency cant call the vet, the doctor, anyone!!! Reception so poor here for cell phones not worth even buying one ( this one 19 years old!) and I sure as heck dont want a SMART phone. Do you know what SMART stands for???
SECRET MILITARY ARMAMENTS IN RESIDENTIAL TECHNOLOGY !! Think about it folks. They want you to have ONLY 5G cell phones so they can control you. Well you are not controlling me. Anyone who wants to take action against Vodaphone please get in touch
