With the shutdown of community newspapers like Central Leader, Western Leader and Eastern Leader, many suburbs have lost a trusted source of local updates, neighbourhood stories and small-business promotion. We are exploring scope of rebranding existing ethnic community newspaper into a broader community newspaper to fill this gap and bring back true local news for everyone — Kiwi, migrant and multicultural communities together. Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
