We must wonder how many incidents are not reported.

Last month, residents in Onehunga reported a ten percent increase in property crime compared to incidents reported throughout September 2023.

This increase in reported crime was associated to twenty-two additional burglaries, however vehicle crime incidents decreased around thirteen percent over the same period
The streets with multiple reported incidents were:

Onehunga Mall (10 incidents) 8 x burgs, 2 x stolen motor vehicles. Church St (5 incidents) 3 x burg, 2 x stolen motor vehicles.
Campbell Rd (5 Incidents) 2 x burgs, 2 x stolen motor vehicles, 1 Theft ex-car
Captain Springs Rd (3 incidents) 2 x burgs, 1 x stolen vehicle
Rockfield Rd ( 3 incidents) 1 x burgs, 2 x stolen vehicles
Princes St ( 3 incidents) 1 x burg, 1 x stolen vehicles, 1 x theft ex-car
Trafalgar St (3 incidents) 2 x burgs, 1 x stolen vehicles
Pleasant St (3 incidents) 2 x burglaries, 1 x theft ex-car
Oranga Ave (3 incidents) 1 x burg, 2 x theft ex-cars
Tawhiri Rd (2 incidents) 1 x burgs, x stolen vehicle
Clarke Rd (2 incidents) 1 x burg, 1 x stolen motor vehicle
Namata Rd (2 incidents) 1 x burg, 1 x stolen motor vehicle

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
