12 hour shifts - bring your reliability & relatability

Ainsley Darvell from Flying Kites - Albany

🌻Are you reliable, engaging and proactive?
🌻Are you looking for meaningful engaging work in Dairy Flat?
🌻Would 12 hour shifts supporting a man with a disability fit into your world?

A friendly, chatty man with a spinal injury is looking for some help throughout his week, especially in the weekends. He needs support workers to work 7am – 7pm and overnight 7pm – 7am and we are hoping that you might be one of those people! When at home he likes to spend his days with his cats and dog, making creations on his computer for screen printing and working on his online sales business.

For this to be the job for you, you need:
- A full NZ drivers licence – to head out to appointments or to get stuff done
- Patience - his injury means he needs to go at a slower pace sometimes
- Interpersonal skills - as he likes to chat with the person supporting him
You get a super gold star if you have some good computer skills, but this one is not essential.
Your role would be to support him getting up and dressed for the day, preparing and helping him to eat his meals, and doing the things his limited mobility prevents him from doing (like typing on the computer and pouring himself a drink). Someone stays awake with him overnight to help him stay comfortable and supported.

All of the shifts are 12 hours long. We especially need people who can work the weekend shifts. We would love to chat if one or a few 12 hour shifts would work in your world. One shift or a full time job, it is up to you.

If this sounds like the job you have been looking for, please email jobs@flyingkites.org.nz or send me a message

Flying Kites helps people with disabilities find amazing people to support them to live their lives and achieve their dreams. #FlyingkitesNZ
