Cockroaches needed in exchange for chocolate!
Hi all,
My son won his school science fair and is now getting ready for regionals. His topic is “Cockroaches are our friends” and he’s seeing if cockroaches change the pH level of soil.
He needs cockroaches! The Gisbourne ones, which are dark, flat and have white around the top. If you can catch them or if you have a beehive or a shed where he can catch them for you, please get in touch. He will give you a mini mars bar for each cockroach found and we can pick up from your letterbox. Thanks so much. I will update this post when we have enough but at the moment he still needs about 60.
Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?
As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙
One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.
So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?

60.1% Yes, supporting people is important!
-
25.7% No, individuals should take responsibility
-
14.3% ... It is complicated
