Waikanae Arts & Crafts Society
One week to go for this annual event. Set aside some time to come along to our Indoor Market Day, 9.00am to 2.00pm, Saturday 15 October, 27a Elizabeth Street, Waikanae (over the railway line). Arts and crafts will be on display and for sale along with fresh produce, plants, preserves and baking. Raffle available.
Rain: We largely missed out again
The sun's out so I guess the 'storm' has passed. Unfortunately the little rain amounting to a mere 13mm around midnight won't do much for the drought conditions in Kapiti. Around 100mm would have been nice.
It's approaching 40 days since we had anything substantial. Perhaps there is more to come from the present event.

Poll: Should we ditch daylight saving? 🕰️
First introduced in New Zealand in 1927 with the passing of the Summer Time Act, it's what we know as 'Daylight Saving' and this year it ends on the first Sunday in April.
While we do get to sleep in this time around, some people would like to scrap the clock tinkering for good.
And why? Some evidence suggests the time changes are bad for our health as they mess with sleep patterns leading to short-term fatigue and affecting mood. Meanwhile the hour change is frustrating for farmers and a nightmare for getting the littlies to sleep. But what's your take?
