FINAL PUSH FOR THE KAPITI FOODBANK PROJECT

Maree from Waikanae Beach

PLEASE HELP GET OUR BUILDING PROJECT OVER THE LINE

Just over a year ago, we launched our Building Fund Appeal - the largest fundraising campaign since the foodbank's inception in 1999. The goal was to raise funds to purchase, relocate and refurbish a purpose-built facility we could call our permanent home.

Throughout the project, we have received overwhelming support from the MenzShed, local businesses and service clubs, churches, and the KCDC. However, increasing build costs, and unexpected expenses have left us short of funds to complete our building project.

No stone has been left unturned in our efforts to provide a permanent home for our much-needed service - including grants, large business donations, and repurposing materials from the community centre.

Our goal is to be in our fully refurbished building by spring, but we need your help for that final push.

So whatever you can afford, please dig deep and help us get over the line.

You can donate by calling into our office at 134 Rimu Road, Paraparaumu, or by visiting our website, or by going to your local bank.

Bank account name: Foodbank Building Fund Appeal
Bank account: 12-3157-0048639-50

And for those businesses or schools keen to get involved, why not come up with something creative for a gold coin donation. It's not only a fun idea but will help boost spirits during these colder months - and it's for a great cause.

All donations over $5.00 are tax-deductible, so if you require a receipt or to share photos, please email foodbankkapiti@gmail.com.

Visit www.thekapitifoodbank.co.nz... for a direct link to our designated building fund appeal account.

Once again thank you from the team at the Kapiti Community Foodbank, and from all those in need who rely on our services.

SHARED ON BEHALF OF THE KAPITI COMMUNITY FOODBANK

Poll: Should all neighbours have to contribute to improvements?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

An Auckland court has ruled a woman doesn’t have to contribute towards the cost of fixing a driveway she shares with 10 neighbours.

When thinking about fences, driveways or tree felling, for example, do you think all neighbours should have to pay if the improvements directly benefit them?

Live Q&A: Garden maintenance with Crewcut

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

This Wednesday, we are having another Neighbourly Q&A session. This time with John Bracewell from Crewcut.

John Bracewell, former Black Caps coach turned Franchisee Development Manager and currently the face of Crewcut’s #Movember campaign, knows a thing or two about keeping the grass looking sharp—whether it’s on a cricket pitch or in your backyard!

As a seasoned Crewcut franchisee, John is excited to answer your lawn and gardening questions. After years of perfecting the greens on the field, he's ready to share tips on how to knock your garden out of the park. Let's just say he’s as passionate about lush lawns as he is about a good game of cricket!

John is happy to answer questions about lawn mowing, tree/hedge trimming, tidying your garden, ride on mowing, you name it! He'll be online on Wednesday, 27th of November to answer them all.
