Viola from Taupo Central

Good morning Taupo neighbours and bread lovers! I am baking Friday 2nd July again.

Order from a range of healthy, grainy goodness arriving fresh, warm, and steaming on your doorstep Friday morning. Feeling sweet? Choose the juicy fruit loaf loaded with loads of dried fruit soaked in dark rum and brown sugar overnight.
Or choose from a range of wholemeal wholesome grainy seeded loaves like the Sunflower, Pumpkin, or Walnut loaf.
For the probiotic fermented gut-lovers out there I offer pure sourdough loaves with a mixture of rye and wholemeal flour and some lovely spices like roasted whole cumin, fennel, and coriander added for the special taste.
Feeling Keto or gluten-free? Choose the Seedlings loaf!
Order by text or phone to 021 0252 1434 and put your order through by Thursday, 1st July 4pm.

Prices start from $8.50 a loaf, which includes delivery within Taupo township.

Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙

One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?

While things are looking calmer in the days ahead, there are still plenty of slips and flooded roads across the district — so if you’re heading out, take it easy and stay alert.

We want to know: How did you and your whānau get on over the weekend?
