Croquet club turns 100

Reporter Community News

The Petone Central Croquet Club is celebrating its centennial this weekend.
Petone moved from Udy Street to its current site in Tennyson St in 1973. In 1996 the club negotiated the purchase of the Tennyson St clubhouse, an old cottage, from the council for $1.
Originally an all women club, men were allowed to join in March 1976.
To mark the centennial, on April 17/18, there will be a lunch for current members and their partners, and former members.
