Big bonus points to Morrinsville & Matamata Police Staff. Called in a welfare check on elderly neighbour whom I had not seen for at least 24 hours (93 yr old). 2 patrol cars arrived and visually checked property. With information I provided, a family member in another town was located, and situation resolved. Thanks to the team for advising me of the satisfactory outcome. Well done.

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙
One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.
