The joys of a birdbath :)
Hello lovely neighbours,
this time of year, with rain so scarce, wild birds struggle to find water for themselves and their babies. If you can afford the $50 for the bath (Bunnings) and have 3 minutes a day to clean and replenish the water, please consider helping them out! We've had a birdbath in our front yard for a few years, and watching the commotion provides endless joy and entertainment. I promise you won't regret it. We get sparrows, starlings, blackbirds, waxeyes, doves, even the occasional grey warbler, all sharing the bath. Sadly, we have to move at the end of January, so now I'm concerned that all these wonderful little critters will be left high and dry. It would make my heart feel lighter if I knew someone else around the middle of the Parade was going to take over ... Thanks in advance!

Poll: Do you think NZ should ban social media for youth?
The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.
This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
.
